Sometimes a PDF needs more than a quick conversion: a name added to a form, a box drawn around an important line, or a note placed beside a figure. The edit tool turns any PDF into a canvas where you can add text, rectangles, circles, and lines on every page, then save the result as a normal PDF. It runs entirely in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
The toolbar offers five tools. Select lets you click an element you have added so you can delete it, and the T tool places a text box where you start dragging. Rect, circle, and line draw the corresponding shapes, each with its own stroke color and, for rectangles and circles, a fill. A font size picker from 12 to 48 px controls the text you place.
A rectangle with a translucent fill doubles as a highlight for a paragraph or a table cell, while circles are useful for pinpointing a figure or a signature line. Lines connect related items or underline key points when you want more control than plain text offers.
Colors are adjustable before you draw, and your chosen stroke and fill apply to each new shape. The layout shows one page at a time with previous and next controls, so you can add elements to any page in a multi-page document.
Your additions are drawn as a separate layer over a rendered view of the page. When you click download, the tool loads the original PDF and burns those text boxes and shapes onto the real pages, saving everything as a standard edited PDF. Elements you no longer want can be selected and removed with the delete key before you save.
Because the annotations are drawn onto the original file, links, form fields, and formatting on the underlying pages survive the edit. The output is a standard PDF that opens anywhere and prints the way you see it on screen.
Filling in the occasional form field, marking a passage for review, highlighting a section of a drawing, or diagramming a process on top of an existing page are all jobs that would otherwise mean printing, annotating by hand, or opening a heavyweight application. A quick editor in the tab you already have open handles them in seconds.
This is an editing layer rather than a full redesign: you add and annotate rather than rewrite the source text. That is the right tool for marking up a document whose content should otherwise stay exactly as it was written.
Free users can edit files up to 10 MB, while Premium subscribers can work with files up to 100 MB and skip the processing wait. All editing happens locally with a PDF library in your browser, and the download includes your annotations burned into a standard PDF.

Pro tip
Place text with a bit of breathing room around it, and check the font size against the page content so notes match the surrounding document. If you make a mistake, select the element and press delete rather than starting over.
